Mass Processes for Spring 2025

The Professional-Track Faculty (PTF) Mass Process assists offices that manage Professional-Track Faculty contracts by centrally processing Renew, Inactivate, and Reactivate transactions before the start of the spring semester. The Mass End Employment Date Extension Process will run from Monday, November 18, 2024 – Wednesday, January 8, 2025, at noon. In addition to extending the end employment date, changes to Scheduled Weekly Hours (SWH), Compensation, Business Title, and Position Title can also be made through this process.

What’s New in the All-in-one Job Costing Tool

A new all-in-one Job Costing Tool (JCT) is now available. Among other updates, the new JCT integrates the functionality of the current Summer Faculty JCT. This removes the need to keep up with multiple JCT versions. The new JCT also includes improvements to help address the complexity of costing for 9-month faculty while preserving current functionality for 12-month populations. To learn about specific updates, continue reading What’s New in the All-in-one Job Costing Tool.

You asked US! – Answers to Common Questions

Why can’t I move my candidate to Ready for Hire?

For a quick list of common issues preventing a candidate from being ready for hire and how to quickly resolve them, check out the entry Cannot Move Candidate to Ready for Hire. For a more detailed troubleshooting checklist, refer to the Candidate Management – Workday Instructional Guide (WIG).

I know I'm not supposed to use today as an effective date when completing a stand-alone Change Organization Assignment, but what date should I use?
Since updating some of the fields in the stand-alone Change Org Assignment process does not directly affect the worker, it is best to go as far back in time as possible to allow other HR processes to happen unimpeded. Please refer to the Change Organization Assignments - Workday Instructional Guide to find the best practices for entering dates. To learn more, continue reading Change Organization Assignment and Effective Dates.

How do I set my profile to use different desk/view combinations for certain screens in DEFINE?

The YP2 command allows users to specify up to 12 default desk/view combinations for specific commands or menu screens. To learn how, refer to the askUS knowledge base entry Profiling Desk and View Combinations for DEFINE Screens.
