Transition from Non-Tenure Track to Professional-Track Faculty Terminology

We are beginning the process of transitioning away from using the term Non-Tenure Track (NTT) faculty in favor of the new Professional-Track Faculty (PTF) title adopted by the University to refer to adjunct or contract faculty. The transition process will affect many systems (such as Workday), reports, documentation, and other resources.

Mass Extend Process Now Allows Compensation Changes

Beginning with Summer 2024, the Mass End Employment Date Extension Process will allow CSUs to change compensation amounts for workers being extended as part of their process submission.

Employee Base Compensation Visualization Now Available

The Employee Base Compensation – D0003 visualization provides authorized users with a view of base salary compensation for employees by fiscal year. It calculates Averages and Medians to allow for comparisons across Colleges, Schools, Units (CSUs), and the University by Job Profile, along with access to other filters and views.

Courtesy Faculty are academic appointments that establish a relationship between faculty and another academic unit without the necessity of an additional job that has scheduled weekly hours or compensation. The other academic unit would be another college, school, or department outside the academic unit of their primary academic appointment.

On Saturday, March 9, 2024, Workday, Inc. will implement their spring update (Workday 2024 R1). During the update, Workday may be unavailable, slow, or unresponsive. Due to these potential issues, we encourage everyone to delay accessing Workday on March 9 until the update is complete and the system returns to normal operation.

New Version of Form I-9 goes into effect on October 20

On Aug. 1, 2023, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) published a revised version of the Form I-9. Workday will receive the new version on October 20, 2023. On this date, all newly initiated Complete Form I-9s will be processed on this new version. Any in-progress Form I-9s started before October 20 must be completed by Friday, October 27.
