What’s New in the Workday Spring Update

The Workday Spring Update for 2022 is now in effect. Improvements include a global navigation menu and new search functionality. For more information covering all changes included in the update, continue reading What’s New in Workday?

The Workday Spring Update includes significant changes to the Workday Homepage layout that impacts how workers access the Time app from the homepage. Resources are available in English and Spanish to aid those who may require assistance navigating to the Time app on the new homepage.

You asked US! – Answers to Common Questions

What is the process for correcting an employee's timesheets in Workday?

To correct time entries made after 10/31/2018, refer to the askUS Knowledge Base entry, Process for Correcting Timesheets in Workday. Remember, there is a limit to how far back you can go to correct time in Workday.

How Do I Copy an FRMS Transfer Document?

The method depends on whether the transfer document is approved or not. To learn both methods, continue reading Copy an FRMS Transfer Document in the askUS Knowledge Base. While there are many reasons you’d want to copy a transfer document, it might be helpful to know it’s the only way to fix a document created on the wrong desk.

How does the Time Off Service Date (TOSD) affect Payouts in Workday?

When using the Workday report Payable Time Off Balances (Required and Optional) - RPT0371 to review payable time off balances, note that the Time Off Service Date column refers to the date the employee reached six months of continuous state service. The TSOD is when the employee becomes eligible to use or be paid for vacation. It is not necessarily the date the payout should be processed. Payouts should occur on the termination date or the day before the worker loses leave eligibility. For additional guidance, see the Payouts at Termination or Loss of Leave Eligibility – Workday Instructional Guide (WIG).

Upcoming Wi-Fi Security Updates from ITS

“Trust and Accept” NEW utexas Wi-Fi Certificate on your phones and computers starting March 30

Beginning March 30, you will be prompted to trust and accept a new certificate to access the utexas Wi-Fi network from your phones, tablets, and computers. The previous certificate is expiring as an annual security measure. For those who may not be traveling to campus regularly, you will need to "Trust/Accept" the new certificate on your first trip back to campus after March 30. A new Wi-Fi certificate will be issued annually as a routine security measure. A campus-wide email will go out to all students, faculty, and staff later in March and include links to help resources. For more information, visit this help page.

Increasing security across UT’s 300,000 Wi-Fi enabled devices starting May 22

On May 22, additional firewall protection will extend to more than 300,000 individual devices within the university’s network. There won’t be any difference for most students, faculty, and staff, except they will now be better protected. If situations arise where the firewall blocks activities between your devices over Wi-Fi, please visit this help page. A campus-wide email will go out to all students, faculty, and staff later in March and include links to help resources.
