Form I-9 Section 1 and Section 2 Workday Instructional Guides (WIGs) were recently updated to ensure consistency with HR guidance on the Form I-9 and E-Verify Resources website and to clarify instructions for employees and I-9 Partners completing the Form I-9 process in Workday.
Complete Form I-9 (Section 1) – Completed by Employee as self
- Highlights employee's ability to make benefit elections as soon as they submit Section 1
- Includes descriptions of each citizenship or immigration status choice
- Provides instructions for employees who need to update the government IDs in their Personal Information
Complete Form I-9 (Section 2) – Completed by I-9 Partner
- Includes instructions for processing an employee who is an alien authorized to work and waiting for an SSN from the Social Security Administration
- Shares how to handle common errors in Section 1.
- Provides instructions for uploading acceptable documents to an employee's Worker Profile > Personal > Documents.
- Improved instructions for attaching a Photo ID document to the Form I-9 business process.
- The WIG now includes example screenshots of E-Verify responses.
- Enhanced guidance for monitoring in-progress Form I-9s using the report Workday Form I-9 Process Status - RPT0932
