Workday to set a new standard for administrative processes at UT
Dear Colleagues,
In November, The University of Texas at Austin will launch Workday — a software system for human resources and payroll. The new system will significantly improve the efficiency of our administrative processes across the university. This is a highly visible and essential initiative for the institution to carry out our mission. It has been a focus for me and many others since I became president. The UT leadership team looks forward to partnering with all units across campus for a smooth transition.
Workday will enable us to better use data to inform our decisions, standardize operations across the university and maintain a single system for HR and payroll business. Other higher education clients of Workday include The Ohio State University, Penn State, the Texas A&M System and the University of Washington — an institution whose Workday consultants are now on our consulting team.
Launching and implementing Workday is complex. A project of this magnitude involves extensive collaboration among every unit on campus. The offices of the president, the executive vice president and provost and the senior vice president and chief financial officer will work together to provide support to units throughout this process. We know the transition will create some challenges.
