A transaction is a group of information that makes up an accounting entry. Some information is required on every UT accounting entry (i.e., account number, object class code, amount, etc.).  Some information is optional (i.e., DTN or *DEFINE codes, etc.).

Terminology Talk – Cancel vs. Cancel

In Workday, transactions, known as business process events, can have different statuses such as in-progress, completed, or canceled. It's not uncommon to cancel an in-progress event which you can accomplish from the related actions for the specific business process event. An unsubmitted business process can simply be canceled via a cancel button on the screen.

Each month, the Mass End Additional Job/Termination Process (mass term) uses automation to reduce the effort involved in ending jobs in Workday that would otherwise have to be ended manually within a short window of time. Why is this important? Jobs not ended appropriately can impact employee benefits and pay as well as CSU budgets and resources resulting in extra time and effort all around.
