Planned Downtime for Workday Spring Update on March 12

On Saturday, March 12, 2022, Workday, Inc. will implement their spring update (Workday 2022 R1) and perform system maintenance. During the update and maintenance window, Workday may be unavailable, slow, or unresponsive. Due to these potential issues, we encourage everyone to delay accessing Workday until after the update is complete and the system returns to normal operation.

Automatic Compensation Events Now Visible in Worker History

In Workday, Automatic Compensation Events are system-generated transactions based on compensation plans with an Actual End Date. Users with the appropriate Workday security role can now see these events in Worker History.

Terminology Talk - Job Requisitions

Job Requisitions in Workday have three possible statuses: Open, Filled, or Closed. Open job requisitions are active and can be either Posted or Unposted to the job posting websites. Filled job requisitions are completed recruiting efforts, i.e., a candidate has been hired to fill the job. Closed job requisitions are recruiting efforts that will not be completed.

University Headcount Visualization Available in Tableau on February 7

On February 7, the University Headcount – D0001 visualization in Tableau will become available. eBITS and IQ developed the new tool for viewing the unduplicated count of people in each supervisory organization at The University of Texas at Austin via the UT Data Hub in partnership with the Data to Insights initiative.

Terminology Talk – Job vs. Position

We commonly use the terms Job and Position interchangeably, but there is a technical difference. Positions are separate business objects that we can create and modify without the necessity of a worker in the position. This distinction means that Positions may be unfilled, filled, or closed. Jobs, however, must always have a worker.
