What to do when the leave payout report shows an ineligible worker

Occasionally a worker accrues Vacation or Sick Time Off that they are not eligible to use or be paid for upon separation. For example, a worker accrues time off in a month when they did not work or loses vacation eligibility before they have met the continuous State of Texas service eligibility requirement.

Contract Payment Tracker Coming April 12th

On April 12, the Contract Payment Tracker (CPT) will become available to campus as part of phase 2 of the Contract Payments Tracking Project. VP2 and VPE documents in DEFINE will also receive new audit functionality related to processing contract payments. Together these changes improve the ability of departments to monitor payments related to business contracts in the Contracts+ system.

Workday Update Limits use of Contingent Worker

A recent change to Workday limits the use of the worker type Contingent Worker to the A003 - Independent Contractor and A004 - Employee of Contractor job profiles. Offices must hire all other nonemployees using the Hire business process with an employee type of Nonemployee. This change only applies to new nonemployees. CSUs are not required to convert current Contingent Workers to employees

Second Phase of Contract Payments Tracking Project Coming this Spring

In April, *DEFINE VP2 and VPE document creators will see additional audits when entering payment transactions indicated as they relate to a contract. Payments will begin to audit against contract dates and amounts taken directly from a new interface with Contracts+ to help ensure payments under a business contract do not exceed their approved dollar limits.

Close Evergreen and Job Requisitions Without Contacting SWS

A recent update to Workday now allows HR Executives, HR Partners, Academic HR Executives, and Academic HR Partners to close Evergreen and Job Requisitions. This update means that holders of these roles no longer need to contact HR Strategic Workforce Solutions (SWS) to perform this action.

Employees can choose Default Display Language in Workday

Employees can now choose their preferred Default Display Language in Workday to support the university’s goal of increasing inclusiveness and belonging on campus. Employees can choose between thirty-nine languages to use as their default display language using the Change Preferences task.
